Jeff Wolf Talks Broncos Ownership & Richard Sherman’s Recent Arrest on 104.3 The Fan with Host Dan Jacobs

The trial that was set to take place between some of Pat Bowlen’s children and the Pat Bowlen Trust has been vacated, and speculation about what this means for the Broncos franchise is at an all-time high.

Have sisters Amie Klemmer and Beth Bowlen Wallace come to an agreement with the Bowlen Trust? Will their younger sister, Brittany, cooperate? With so much on the line, what could the vacated trial mean?

In a recent interview on 104.3 The Fan with host Dan Jacobs, Denver defense attorney and Court TV correspondent Jeff Wolf sorted through what we know about the situation so far.

“I think it’s a lot less about whether they were going to lose an inheritance…and it’s a lot more about ego. That’s what running a team in the NFL is all about.”

In a previous interview, Wolf suggested that the sister’s actions, so far, point toward a sale. And what a sale it would be—it’s estimated that the Broncos are worth $3.2 billion.

“At the end of the day, I think what everybody realizes is that…none of these kids were actually ready to own an NFL franchise,” said Wolf. “It isn’t feasible…there was no way that anybody was going to be able to meet the conditions in a meaningful way that the NFL would sign off on.”

Later in the show, Wolf touched on the recent arrest of Richard Sherman, NFL cornerback and five-time Pro Bowl player.

Audio of the 911 call, made by Sherman’s wife, is a desperate plea to ensure Sherman’s safety. Sherman was reportedly in distress and had consumed alcohol prior to getting into his car and traveling to his in-laws home.

“It’s hard to know what happened…” explained Wolf. “But what was absolutely sickening to me when I listened to that 911 call…is the utter lack of empathy that the 911 dispatcher has for the situation. If you are a black man in America and the police are coming to your home…you need to worry about whether they’re going to shoot you? Your family shouldn’t be afraid to call the police when you’re not doing alright.”
